Singer And Williams Team For New Reimagined Lightweight Widebody 911

Singer and Williams have been working together on this gorgeous display of carbon, titanium, and original 911 steel for a few years now, and they’re finally ready to show off the fruits of their labor. Singer’s best customer, one Scott Blattner – who owns an energy company along with three different 911s Reimagined By Singer- decided to commission something different. He wanted something a little more focused, track ready, and unique. With as many of these 964-based monsters as Singer has been ‘restoring’ lately, it’s hard to imagine they’ll have the time to perfect a completely new line of even wilder cars. That’s why they’ve built a new production line within William’s Formula 1 team headquarters as part of their partnership. In addition to this car, already in production for Mr. Blattner, the run will include 75 cars, and we expect them to exceed one million dollars each.

So, what does your million plus investment buy you?

Well, you’ve already seen the new titanium-rotating assembly 500-horsepower 4-liter engine that Williams helped Singer develop. With a four-cam cylinder head design and four valves per cylinder, individual throttle bodies, and a carbon intake built into the rear quarter windows, this beast of an engine is alleged to rev above 9000 RPM, and it sounds phenomenal. That engine has been mated to a Hewland 6-speed H-pattern gearbox for maximum 3-pedal awesome. Power is put to the ground through a set of specially-developed BBS 18″ monobloc center-locking Fuch-style wheels wrapped in Singer-specific Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires.

The list of people involved in the development of this car is astounding; Hans Mezger, Norbert Singer, Chris Harris, and Marino Franchitti. And that’s to say nothing of the hundreds of Williams engineers that have developed bespoke CFD (computational fluid dynamics) designed aero components that still fit the aesthetic of the Singer ethos. This car still features the iconic ducktail and longhood-influenced design language, but now has been fitted with crazy wide fenders, ducts, and intakes everywhere you look. Even the tail lights appear to have been specially designed to act as some form of aero outlet.

This car, with all of its carbon, aluminum, titanium, and inconel components, now weighs just under 2200 lbs. With an alleged 500 horsepower, that’s ust over 4 pounds for each of its horses. That is a mightily impressive combination of numbers, as it weighs about the same as a 911 would have forty years ago, but holds nearly three times the power output. We love what Singer and Williams have done with this one, and hope to one day get our grubby little hands on that spectacular bespoke steering wheel. This is the German/British/American amalgam supercar that we’ve been waiting for. Bring it on!
